Imagine this: you’re on holiday with your significant other, ready to pop the question. The timing feels perfect - sunset over Lake Bled, a romantic boat ride just as you planned. And then your soon-to-be fiancé suggests walking up the hill to see a castle. You smile, sigh, and gently guide them back toward the plan you’ve been dreaming of.

Last August, I painted this scene in a realistic style for two dear friends. Soft, fluid brushstrokes capture the atmosphere that visitors to Slovenia often describe: serene, romantic, and full of anticipation. And of course, the castle simply had to be part of it.
